A Summer Mesa Arizona Temple Wedding
Julie and Dustin’s wedding day was such a fun reminder that the best weddings are the ones that truly reflect the couple.
Because Arizona summers don’t mess around, we started the day early with a first look and portraits at the Mesa Arizona Temple before the temperatures climbed. Those quiet moments together before the ceremony were some of my favorites, and it gave us plenty of time to capture beautiful photos before they entered the temple. Afterward, they were greeted by family and friends with a joyful grand exit before we took family photos on the temple grounds.
After brunch with their friends and family, during the hottest part of the day, Julie and Dustin set some time aside for a little break. While guests relaxed before the reception, the two of them went bowling. Bowling is one of Julie’s favorite hobbies, and it felt like such a perfect example of making the day your own. I love when couples build in moments that simply make them happy.
That evening, everyone gathered at The Acre in Gilbert for a reception that couldn’t have felt more like Julie and Dustin. Every detail had a purpose and reflected their personalities. They brought in Swig drinks as a nod to their engagement, had the cutest popsicle cart to help everyone cool off, served a taco bar for dinner, and surprised guests with a donut truck afterward. It was all about creating an experience that felt personal, thoughtful, and fun for everyone there.
One of my favorite parts of the evening was watching them simply enjoy it. They spent so much of the reception talking with friends and family instead of feeling rushed from one event to the next. As the sun went down, they shared their first dance, cut their cake, and ended the night surrounded by cheering guests as confetti filled the air during their grand exit.
Julie and Dustin, every part of your wedding reflected exactly who they are, and it was such an honor to capture it all.
