A Beautiful Lakeside Golf Course Wedding
Andraea and Kenny’s wedding day at Ocotillo Golf Club was a big reunion in the best possible way. So many of their friends and family traveled in from completely different chapters of their lives, and you could feel how much it meant to them to have everyone together in one place. There was this underlying feeling all day of “these are our people,” and it made everything feel really personal from the start.
Before the grand festivities began, Andraea and Kenny chose to share a private vow exchange immediately following their first look. Before their guests arrived, they were able to ground themselves, look back on their journey of moving across the country together, and focus entirely on the promise of their future. It was a beautifully intimate start to a day full of deep connection.
The ceremony took place on the breathtaking lower lawn at Ocotillo. Nestled right by the lakeside, the venue offered a unique elegance that perfectly blended lush greenery with Arizona’s natural charm. (And yes, stunning golf course views, too!).
Because Andraea and Kenny love a simple, timeless aesthetic, they chose a design meant to stand the test of time. They leaned into the desert landscape by choosing a color palette of sage green, peach, and terracotta. The floral arrangements were fun and elegant, and to give their out-of-town guests a true taste of the Southwest, they seamlessly incorporated textured succulents into the decor.
The ceremony itself was deeply personal. Since the couple opted out of a traditional wedding party, they chose to have one of Andraea’s high school best friends, Ryan, officiant the wedding. Having someone who has witnessed their story from the early days made the moment they officially became husband and wife even more meaningful.
If there was one thing Andraea and Kenny excelled at, it was making sure their guests had an incredible time. Cocktail hour kicked off with signature “his and hers” cocktails that perfectly matched the day’s vibe:
For Her: A bright, refreshing Aperol Spritz (which perfectly matched the peach and terracotta color scheme).
For Him: A classic, perfectly crafted Whiskey Sour, Kenny’s favorite.
But the real star of cocktail hour? The beer burro! Guests were absolutely delighted to grab a cold drink from a sweet donkey, making for the ultimate photo-op and setting a fun tone for the rest of the party.
The overarching theme of the night wasn’t just the beautiful decor or the perfect weather, it was gratitude. After moving several times, Andraea and Kenny’s favorite people have become dispersed across the globe. Seeing their worlds collide on the dance floor, with loved ones spanning from coast to coast, was a testament to the impact this couple has on everyone they meet.
Andraea and Kenny, your wedding was a stunning reminder that home isn’t a place, it’s the people you surround yourself with. Thank you for letting me capture the beginning of your next great adventure!
