About Desert Botanical Gardens

If you enjoy the beauty of the Sonoran Desert and the natural splendor that it offers, the Desert Botanical Garden is an ideal setting for your wedding. This incredible wedding venue, located in Phoenix, Arizona, is one-of-a-kind as it provides intimate wedding events surrounded by one of the most impressive botanical gardens in the world. If saying your vows surrounded by cacti, mountains, and lush greenery sounds like a dream to you, DBG is the perfect sweet spot of desert and wonder.

Check out the full list of my favorite Arizona wedding venues.

The history behind the venue

The beautiful gardens were founded in 1937 by the Arizona Cactus and Native Flora Society. Since then, the garden has grown incredibly, and it now offers a variety of more than 50,000 plants. It is a dream come true for anyone who enjoys plants and nature. And you can still find some of the original cacti today!

Reception & Ceremony Accomodations

The gardens are a perfect choice for a memorable wedding because the natural appeal offered is next to none. You have a choice of four phenomenal event spaces, each uniquely gorgeous in its own way. You also get the option of a daytime or sunset wedding.

Dorrance Center – hosts up to 110 guests

The Dorrance Hall is the perfect indoor option with floor-to-ceiling white drapes (your photographer will thank you). When combined with the adjoining outdoor spaces, this venue is ideal for your intimate wedding reception.

Boppart Courtyard, located just south of Dorrance Hall is the perfect choice for an outdoor ceremony or a romantic stage for cocktail hour and dinner. With bistro lights overhead and the gardens surrounding, you can’t go wrong.

Kitchell Patio creates the perfect indoor/outdoor feel when combined with Dorrance Hall. Enjoy dinner inside, then dessert and dancing on the patio. Sounds like a win/win.

The Webster Center – Up to 110 guests

The Webster Center provides a great selection with an auditorium, terrace, and patio spaces. If you are looking for an intimate wedding space that is elegant and enchanted, the Steele Herb Garden is perfect for you.

Other popular choices

Couples who love unique flowers will lose their hearts in the Binns Wildflower Pavilion. This remarkable event space can host up to 45 of your loved ones. Meanwhile, the Steele Herb Garden can comfortably seat 40 underneath the magical greenery.

Noteworthy Features

The Desert Botanical gardens stand out as an obvious option, especially if you are hosting out-of-town guests who want to experience the magic of Arizona. The gardens showcase thousands of the desert’s botanicals and bring the beauty of the desert to life. They also have lush greenery that is hard to find in the natural desert and the beautiful surrounding mountains create the perfect backdrop for photographs. Pair this with their specialty in crafting delicious meals, and you have a winning combo.

BONUS: When you host your wedding at DBG, your guests are granted access to the gardens throughout your wedding day, meaning they can arrive early to explore the park’s natural beauty while you enjoy relaxing and retouching in the dressing rooms that the garden provides. DBG also provides detailed trail maps for your wedding guests, ensuring that they find their way and see everything they want to see.

Finally, the gardens give back! When choosing to spend your wedding here, you contribute to desert conservation initiatives and research.

Pricing & Collections

Since the gardens offer four event venues, they have four packages that are priced differently. Here are the starting costs you can expect:

A beautiful wedding at the Dorrance Center with 250 loved ones starts at $3,800.

A magical wedding at the Webster Center with 150 beloved guests will cost around $3,500.

And finally, your big day surrounded by wildflowers and 100 friends and family at Binns Wildflower Pavilion will cost about $2,000.

The Desert Botanical Garden can give you a wedding that is just as unique and amazing as the gardens are. Celebrate the special moments of your big day surrounded by the beauty of DBG.
