Timeless Black & White Wedding in Yuma, Arizona
Ziria and Justin stood hand in hand on a hill underneath a giant tree. The sun was beating against their backs, a welcoming warmth on a cool January day in Yuma, Arizona. They privately read their handwritten vows to one another as tears slowly streamed down their cheeks as they took in these promises. It was just the two of them at that moment, having just finished their wedding ceremony.
Just hours earlier Z and her bridesmaids had been singing to “Chapel of Love” at their cute Airbnb as they got ready, sipped champagne, and had a first look with the bride. The vibes were sky-high as we headed to the venue. The couple had chosen Yuma to celebrate their marriage since it’s where Z grew up and chose the Quarter Master Depot as their venue for the beautiful outdoor space it provided.
Guests were greeted with instrumental music from the Yuma Orchestra as they arrived and after staying apart all morning, Justin finally got to see his gorgeous bride as she walked up the aisle with her father. Their ceremony was short and sweet, they shared traditional vows (saving their most heartfelt feelings for that private exchange when they could look into each other’s eyes), then exchanged rings and sealed the deal with a kiss.
Right after the ceremony and private vows were exchanged, we got to enjoy sunset portraits around the grassy hills of the venue before heading to the reception. Justin and Z’s decorator knocked it out of the park meeting their timeless black-and-white wedding dreams. Flowers perched on all surfaces, meanwhile hand painted bells paired with each place setting as the perfect favor.
Grand entrance was met with mariachi music, delicious food, and custom cocktails before the events and the dance floor opened up. This was an especially fun part of the night for the couple who had told me, “The most meaningful thing to me is seeing other couples at the wedding that have been married for so many years. It gives Justin and I such a good example of the love to look forward to.”
Ziria & Justin, it was such a joy to see you both surrounded by so much love and encouragement on your wedding day. One thing was very clear: you are being rooted for by everyone you surround yourselves with. I’m rooting for you too! Thank you again for your love and trust on this day and throughout the process.
