The Target Game Proposal
Megan and Zach went to high school together, but don’t really remember one another from those days. She was artsy, he was sporty and they didn’t cross paths much. Megan was close with his family, though, since she was his mom’s TA and did his sister’s hair. She maintained this relationship with his mom and sister over the next few years while Zach was living in Texas, but it wasn’t until he came home for his sister’s wedding that he noticed Megan and they started dating a couple years later.
During 2020, there wasn’t much of a reason to dress up, so Zach used Easter as his opportunity to propose. They were dressing up to go to brunch at Megan’s cousin’s. Before they got there, though, Zach had the idea to stop at Target and play the Target game. This is a trend when a couple is each given a list of prompts to buy something for the other person that matches. Megan thought it was a little silly at first, but decided to appease Zach and play. The first question was “something to bring for brunch” (to not make her suspicious). But he sneakily changed the last question to be “something you’ll use for the rest of your life”. During their reveal of this question is when he gave her the ring.
Megan said she was surprised at how surprised she was because they had been talking about getting engaged, but she didn’t know when he was going to propose. And his plan to surprise her worked! She said yes and they’ve been planning their dream wedding since.
Megan and Zach, I can’t wait for your wedding next year. If your engagement session told me anything, it’s that we are going to have a great time celebrating you and your new marriage. I can’t wait to see your vision come to life!
