Superstition Mountain Engagement Session
You know that feeling right after a college volleyball game? Where the crowd is still lingering, you can smell the popcorn in the air and kiddos are running around on the court, trying to see how high they can jump on the net. Well, this is the setting where two GCU students made a connection they didn’t know would change their lives. Alex and Wedner (aka Delmonte) exchanged numbers with their future spouse.
A couple months passed after the game, but the couple finally shared their first date to the movies. They hit it off and began dating frequently, so Alex was surprised when Delmonte asked her to be his girlfriend (she had thought they were already exclusive for months), but of course she said yes.
When I sat down with Alex at a Blackrock in Scottsdale (her fave), she shared that she knows Delmonte is the one because of the way he lights up a room. She said his smile is contagious and he is so happy all the time. I knew it sounded like a perfect fit because just from talking to her for an hour, I knew how ambitious, genuine and gorgeous she was inside and out.
The Sunday right before Thanksgiving will always be a part of their story because of the events that unfolded that day. Alex had just gone to visit her friend in Iowa and Delmonte picked her up from the airport. She had plans with her family that night for dinner, but decided she was too tired to go. Plus, she was going to see them the next morning for breakfast. Little did she know, Delmonte had a diamond burning a hole in his pocket and he simply couldn’t wait anymore to ask her to marry him. He had picked up the ring the night before and hadn’t been able to eat or sleep because he was so nervous to pop the question.
When she got into Delmonte’s car at Sky Harbor, he told her he thought they should go to the dinner and even though she didn’t feel like it, they ended up going. And I’m sure glad they did because he asked her to marry him and SHE SAID YES!
Now, nearly a year later, here’s a peek into their very special engagement session. Seeing them all dressed up in a sharp black suit and white dress got me so excited for what’s to come this spring!
Alex & Delmonte, I walked away from your session blown away at what incredible people you are. Together, you have an amazing way of making things fun and making your partner (and your photographer) laugh out loud. Counting down the days until your beautiful wedding!
