South Mountain Sunflower Wedding
As he stood at the alter holding back tears, marrying his daughter to the love of her life, Nicole’s father recalled memories of his baby girl’s childhood. She had trembling knees as she held her soon-to-be husband’s hands in front of their friends and family. Their moms were sitting in the front row with tears of joy in their eyes. This was a happy day for them as they got to watch the union of two souls who were so happy to be with one another.
Sunflowers surrounded them as they held hands and looked into each other’s eyes, and James’ two kids looked up at them with excitement as they became a family. Her father, the pastor, welcomed his new grandchildren with open arms. And their son walked both of his grandmothers back down the aisle, which made for the cutest ‘awww’ moment.
Before the ceremony started, the couple was so careful not to see each other. They hid in separate tents when the other was around to make sure they carried on tradition and didn’t see one another before Nicole walked down the aisle. Since it was an outdoor venue without much to hide behind, this was a fun game we’d play as we took each out for their bridal portraits.
Nicole’s dress was one of a kind, handmade by a woman in the UK. It’s light yellow color lent perfectly to the sunflower inspired details, which happened to include a bouquet of the blooms as well as the tiny flowers in her hair.
Following the wedding was a party for all. Kids blew bubbles and played with one another while there was Mexican Food to go around. However, my favorite part was the sunflower cupcakes in all their delicious flavors including maple bacon and s’mores. This was the perfect little party to celebrate Nicole and James as newlyweds.
