South Mountain Engagement Session
How, in a crowd of 3,000 do you find one? One that will come to know you better than anyone else, who will love you fiercely and that makes you know the rest of your life will be made better with them by your side? Because that’s exactly what happened for this duo.
Delia and Jake met at a Romanian church in Happy Valley, Arizona among 3,000 worshipers. Somehow, they found each other… well, uh, not quite each other. More like, each other’s friends. As a group, the four of them decided to go on a double date to ease tensions and get to know each other better. Jake paired with Delia’s cousin and Delia paired with Jake’s friend. On this date to the movies, Delia and Jake noticed each other and realized there might be a little spark there and decided to explore it a little more. After those first couple dates, the rest is history…
But that’s not where their cute story ends. In fact, meeting at church is kind of a ‘tradition’ for this family. You see, Romania is about the size of Arizona and Delia’s parents happened to live on the opposite side of the country from each other. Somehow, they managed to meet and fall in love at nowhere other than a church – just like their daughter would meet her future husband all these years later!!
I can’t wait for this duo to tie the knot in July at the very church their story began. Family has been such a factor for them as they’ve planned their special day – right down to what month the wedding would be held so their families travel to celebrate with them. When I asked Delia what she’s most excited about, she mentioned the energy of having a lot of family there. Well, that and a special honeymoon trip to the Maldives where they’ll be enjoying the view from a bungalow on the ocean. I can’t say I blame her.
Delia and Jake, so many congratulations to the two of you! I’m so excited for you and all the adventures this marriage is going to bring you. You both deserve all the happiness, and I am so glad I got to be a part of your story in a little way.
