Riva’s Bridal Shower
“She’s just so beautiful” and “Look how perfect she is” might be the two phrases most commonly said at Riva’s beautiful bridal shower. I overheard so many guests saying things along these lines in awe of Riva and how effortlessly gorgeous she is. As I got to know her throughout the shower, I can testify that she is genuine on the inside and out and she has a deep-rooted love for her friends and family.
This was a bridal shower dreams are made of. Planned by sisters-of-the-bride, Rita and Sandra, there was not a leaf left unturned. There were custom cookies, each one a piece of art with different wedding themes and phrases anticipating Riva’s big day. The tablescapes were flowing with pink peonies and white roses (what a dream combo), but the most fun of all was a ‘Miss to Mrs.’ backdrop for all the photos.
The decorations were lovely, the games were cute, but my favorite part of the shower was the tradition. The dances were filled with celebration and tradition. One tradition that makes me smile was Riva’s cake cutting (keep scrolling to read about the cake because it deserves its own paragraph). She cut her cake and took a bite, then proceeded to feed her mother, the mother of the bride, her sisters, her maid of honor, and her bridesmaids. I thought it was such a sweet way to pay tribute to your family and friends who are also gaining a member of their family. They have helped you become who you are, they’ve helped you plan your dream wedding, and they will be there to celebrate with you harder than anyone else. What a perfect sentiment to let them know that they are in this with you.
Finally, I have to mention this cake. I have already used up the perfect phrases to describe it, like “what dreams are made of” and “look how perfect”, so I’m lacking an adequate description. The flavor? Raspberry champagne. Before this day, I didn’t even know this flavor existed, let alone that it is the best flavor on the planet.
Riva & Paully, you deserve the best. I hope your marriage is everything you want and more, and CONGRATULATIONS again!
