Polar Express Proposal Story

Jan 28, 2020

This couple was brought together by one of my very favorite things (and probably yours too) – a puppy! When Emily met Andrew for the first time as she was sitting in accounts payable at work, she quickly put him in the friend zone. She didn’t believe dating a coworker would be the best idea, but everything changed when the ultimate wingman entered the mix. Andrew adopted just about the tiniest (and sweetest) pitbull-lab mix you have ever laid your eyes on. It’s still undecided if Emily fell in love with Andrew or his fur baby first, but my puppy-loving heart has decided this is the best pickup ever! After that, Emily and Andrew started hanging out every single day and they became inseparable.

Luckily, Andrew has friends in high places, and by that, I mean ring designers. He knew a couple of things: she wanted a double halo and a princess cut. With those guidelines, he went to work designing her the perfect ring. I definitely think Andrew has a future in ring design (and I’m not exaggerating) scroll down for this must-see ring.

Andrew went to great lengths to keep his special proposal a surprise. The ring was kept snuggled safely in their closet safe, which needed ladder access to get in and out. This proved especially tricky when it was time to get the ring out with Emily home, but he pulled it off and she was convinced nothing was in there other than her birthday present.

On one magical winter day in December of 2017, they took a Polar Express ride with their families up to Flagstaff in the search for snow. They eventually found the perfect spot – an area covered in fake snow at Snow Bowl (hey, we’ll take what we can get here in AZ) and Andrew got down on one knee to ask Emily to marry him. Her first reaction was to not believe him. He had cried wolf one too many times with ring pops and straw wrappers that this jokester’s history proceeded him. After a few “Are you serious?”s she finally believed him and said yes!

I couldn’t be more excited to celebrate with these two in the fall. They are some of the funniest people I have ever met and I can’t wait to see how they bring the fun to their wedding.
