Phoenix Desert Sunset Maternity Session

Jan 29, 2018

The wind blew Jennifer’s hair back, she clutched her blush dress with one hand, the other was under her tummy, defining her bump. The sun was setting behind her, providing the perfect halo glow behind her light brown hair. We stood in the desert, which at the time felt so far away from the city. The only sounds were praises for her beautiful poses and my camera clicking away. And can we talk about her dress for a sec? Beautiful lace on top with a flattering skirt the perfect shade of pink just blowing in the breeze. This is my definition of the perfect Saturday night.

Overall, this overcast evening was a blast, even though last weekend was surprisingly cold for the valley! The morning of this session was even raining, but that didn’t stop us from going out to capture such a precious time in this beautiful mom’s life (Jennifer already has a little sweetheart, with a precious baby boy on his way)! We lucked out and it was clear until the sun was setting and it started lightly sprinkling again just as we were packing up. It couldn’t have been better timing!

It seems like everyone is going crazy about the background, so I want to wrap up by saying it was my first time shooting at this location near the Apache Trailhead in Phoenix and YOU GUYS, I have to say I love it!! Just a private little area secluded by mountains and cactus. There is a dirt path running through and little open areas that are truly a photographer’s dream. When you’re surrounded by practically untouched desert, how can you not take a second and really admire how beautiful Arizona’s truly is. I honestly don’t know how it gets more perfect than this, but please don’t pinch me because I don’t want to wake up from this dream!
