Malibu Beach Anniversary Session

Aug 6, 2018

If this girl looks a lot like the girl in the last post (me) that is because we’re twins! My sister, Layne and her husband Kaulin got married nearly 3 years ago in California after they met going to school at Boise State. These love birds really hit it off (according to Kaulin, Layne ignored him the first time he said hi to her) and Kaulin proposed to her around Easter of 2015 by planning an Easter egg hunt for her and her ring was inside one of the eggs!

When we started planning an anniversary/retirement party for my parents in Malibu, California this summer, I knew this would be the perfect place to capture their anniversary session—at the same location they had their engagement pictures done over 3 years ago. We had the best time walking down the beach, taking pictures, and remembering how different their lives were 3 years ago.

These two wanted an anniversary session because they love looking back on their wedding photos and wanted these to look back on too a few years down the road. Layne said, “The past three years have been the best, and we love to think back to our wedding day. We have really become a team and can read each other from across the room. We can’t wait to celebrate our anniversary jamming out to one of our favorite bands with each other.” I think the photos really show how close they’ve grown these past few years and their connection really shines through.

For this girl living in AZ, it was nice to have a break from the heat and a fun change of scenery for the photos! I’m so excited for these two as they follow their dreams—Layne getting her master’s degree and Kaulin working his dream job.

Layne and Kaulin, I can’t wait to come visit you and see your new house I also wish I could crash your anniversary trip to Texas because it sounds like a blast!
