Victorian Vintage Winter Wedding

Feb 25, 2020

The candle-lit reception space, filled with friends and family, fell silent as their song began to play. Cue the clouds. With each step, the bride and groom were mesmerizing. All eyes were on them, but they only saw each other as they twirled around in a true Disney-fairytale fashion.

Just hours before, Jennifer and J.R. had been holding hands, facing away from each other, as they shared a private moment before their ceremony. Notes and gifts were exchanged (can you believe they had picked out the SAME gift??), and ‘I love you’s were whispered before Jennifer walked down the aisle and the two tied the knot in front of all those near and dear to them. These are just two of the incredibly heartfelt moments that were shared on this special day and two moments that would make this wedding so unique from any other.

The morning started like many others. I shot detail shots in the hotel bridal suite, then brought the beautiful white dress downstairs for a few close-ups (if you don’t scroll down for any other reason, you NEED to scroll down to see the dress). Jennifer’s mom had come downstairs with me to help hold the dress and we were chatting as my camera was clicking away. Something was immediately clear within minutes – she loves Jennifer with all her heart. After gushing about her daughter and admiring all she did to make this day special, she shared a dream from a mother’s perspective. She said, “I hope this is the second most special day of her life.” I paused and asked her what the first would be, and she responded this day should only be second to seeing her future babies be born. What an emotional moment as this mother shared the days her babies were born and why those moments could never be touched.

This day was filled with beauty and emotion, but once the party got started, there was no going back. Jennifer has a future in wedding planning, and I do not say that lightly! Every last detail was carefully put together from caricature artists to late-night snacks (soft pretzel bar aaaaaand s’mores… all of my favorite things!). It filled my heart with so much happiness to see their engagement photos on every surface Lindsay Grove had to offer, both inside and out. Beluvid Entertainment filled the dance floor and came to party with the coolest colored lights.

When writing a blog post, I usually like to think about one incredibly precious moment of a wedding and use that as the focus, but there were a million things I fell in love with about this wedding and couple that I simply couldn’t narrow it down!

Jennifer & J.R., it is so clear that you two are focused on having a marriage filled with fun, adventures and making sure the other feels understood. I love you guys and can’t wait to see where your next adventure leads. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing this day with me.
