Lake Pleasant Engagement Session
I’ve talked before on my blog about love capitals of the world, but I think a major one I overlooked. There’s one particular store, with red and white aisles where many have fallen in love time and time again – especially one the Magnolia Collection was released. Why is no one taking week-long romantic getaways to Target? Okay, we may fall in love with cute baskets, flower planters and dollar section notepads, but this couple fell head over heels in love with each other!
Kalie and Michael both worked at Target – her in the clothing department and him in the food section. Every day they would pass each other in the aisles and give each other what they called “the eyes”, but they didn’t really know each other until they finally talked and made plans to go on a first date. They headed to the coffee bean where they hit it off over espresso and deep conversation, followed it up with a trip to the dog park… just to watch the dogs even though they didn’t have one of their own! The two shared an instant connection and two weeks later, they moved in together.
When they started talking about getting married, Kalie helped Mike pick out the perfect ring (and it’s pink, you guys!). The ring came in early, giving Michael the perfect opportunity to surprise his bride-to-be. They took a drive to their favorite place, Lake Pleasant, and enjoyed an afternoon together. The beach was all theirs as they drank and relaxed. Finally, Mike reached into his bag. As he began talking, Kalie was a little confused at first and when she figured out what was going on, tears started streaming down her face. She said yes to him on that empty beach in the middle of Arizona – it doesn’t get better than that!
Now, months later, we returned to the very place they got engaged for their engagement session. Kalie and Mike are just the sweetest couple and we had a blast, even playing in the water a little bit.
Kalie no longer works at Target, but she does work at one of my other very favorite stores, Brilliant Bridal, a wedding dress shop here in Arizona. She gave me a hint that her dress is going to be absolutely spectacular. So stay tuned to see their wedding day this fall!
