Gorgeous Spring Scottsdale Wedding

Mackenzie and Drew’s story began about six and a half years ago in a high school chemistry class where they met their junior year. They were friends for two years before they decided to start dating after high school. Drew got a football scholarship to Minnesota, so they spent 4 years long distance before he moved to Arizona and Mackenzie joined him. He finally proposed on the first day of his family’s annual summer party here in AZ.

When I asked them what they were most looking forward to about the wedding, they admitted that besides having everyone they love in one place celebrating with them, they were most excited, “to get to marry our high school crush”.

The couple chose The Scottsdale Plaza Resort for the peaceful environment and how comfortable they felt there. The location ended up being the perfect backdrop for their gorgeous day. In the bridal suite, we got to capture lots of fun with the girls as they got ready. From fireball shots to popping champagne in their pjs, all the girls had such a great time getting excited with Mackenzie. And the groom’s suite was just as fun!

The walk down the aisle was emotional as Drew held back tears seeing his bride for the first time that day. Mackenzie and Drew exchanged their own written vows, complete with a sand ceremony. The excitement between them could be felt by all and after their first kiss, the guests went wild as they made their way back up the aisle.

The reception started off right with fireball shots during Mackenzie and Drew’s grand entrance, and after dinner, they laughed (and cried, much to her sister’s delight) during the toasts. Later on in the evening when Drew (a cop) went to remove the garter, he surprised his bride and all the guests by handcuffing her to the chair. She got her payback, though, when he found a bottle of Smirnoff under her garter.

From then on, everyone was ready to party with the sweet couple. The dance floor was packed all evening as guests danced, drank, and even lifted the couple on their shoulders.
