Gold Canyon Elopement

Aug 4, 2020

Decades have passed since Cheri and Jim walked the halls of their high school hand in hand in small-town Missouri. After high school, the two went their separate ways and both built wonderful lives, including starting families of their own.

Now, after 40 years apart, these high school sweethearts reconnected and fell in love again. The pair found each other on Facebook after Jim friend requested Cheri and from there they rekindled the spark from years ago.

When the time was right, the pair made plans for a wedding at San Tan Brewery with their close friends and family, but when the pandemic struck, they felt it was a little safer to have an intimate elopement, shared with their daughters Audrey and Maddie as the witnesses.

I was lucky enough to join them for their ceremony, which we followed with a cake cutting (I’m still dreaming about this Italian Creme, btw) and some gorgeous portraits in the desert. Cheri had fallen in love with the view in Gold Canyon and was willing to spend part of her day off-roading in the desert to get here. Well worth the drive, we were able to capture some beautiful memories of this perfect day for Cheri and Jim.

I think it’s safe to say Cheri & Jim shared one of the sweetest elopements of all time. Congratulations again on this incredible celebration and your fairytale love!
