Gila Valley Wedding Of The Year
Like many people, Kresta and Pancho love softball, but who would have thought that years ago it would introduce them to someone who would completely change their lives for the better?
Kresta and Pancho were each a part of competing softball teams in the same league. When they played each other, Pancho says his team “crushed” hers. Kresta still went with her friend to watch the following game, which his team happened to be playing in. Afterward, Pancho came up and introduced himself.
The very next day, Kresta accepted an invitation to go out with him and his buddies. After a couple of drinks, the next date was planned and she agreed to go north and see the snow with him. The couple quickly fell in love and Kresta was ready to hear Pancho ask her the age-old question.
For her birthday, Pancho gave her a small velvet box. Inside was a pair of gorgeous earrings that she loved, just not exactly what she was expecting when she saw the box. So, she didn’t let her hopes get too high when she found the same small box under her pillow during their vacation in Cancun. This time, it WAS a ring, though, and Kresta said yes to Pancho’s romantic proposal.
Fast forward to their wedding day months later. The forecast had been calling for rain, but short of a few sprinkles on our drive to Globe, the skies stayed dry. We would get to enjoy beautiful weather and a clear sky until the storm would hit during the indoor reception, showering the couple with years of good luck to come.
Kresta’s wedding dress was absolutely stunning. She had tried on a few dresses at the bridal show, but the first few didn’t fit. When she came out in this one, she recalls about 50 people gathered around her confirming this dress was, in fact, made for her.
In addition to her stunning dress, Kresta wore a couple of pieces rich in history. Her veil was made by her mother over 40 years ago. She had made it for her own wedding and now her daughter got to wear it for hers. Kresta also wore a garter made from the lace of her mother’s wedding dress. Needless to say, she looked stunning and her mom has a future in the veil making business.
This Gila Valley Wedding-of-the-Year nominee was an absolute blast to be a part of. From their sweet pups joining the party to a homemade pie table that still makes my mouth water, Kresta and Pancho pulled off the perfect day. Congratulations to this sweet couple on their incredible day and a beautiful marriage to come!
