Elegant Golf Club Wedding in Chandler, AZ
You know it’s the start of a really, really great night on the dance floor when 11 men burst out in song around the bride and sing their hearts out to her. Seriously, as far as I’m concerned this wedding reception takes the cake for the entire year. Jared’s group of friends have a tradition when each of them get married to circle around the bride as she sits in the middle of the dance floor and help the groom give her the serenade of a lifetime. And these guys brought every ounce of soul they had.
Things only got better from there. I officially nominate Mckenna & Jared’s as best dance floor of 2020 – they came prepared to party and did not disappoint.
Their venue, Wedgewood at Ocotillo, holds a special place in my heart for 2020. Coincidentally, it’s where I spent my very first wedding of the year on January 11th and theirs on December 20th (my very last wedding of the year), with a whole lot of craziness in between. McKenna shared that they chose this venue because they wanted to get married in the East Valley where they both grew up, but also they “got all the feels” as soon as they walked into the reception space. I’m so glad they did because it worked perfectly with each detail they thoughtfully selected.
We began their day in the bridal suite where McKenna got into her beautiful criss-cross Morilee gown. Her supportive best friends and bridesmaids were actually in tears seeing her all ready as a bride and ready to meet Jared. We whisked them away for a private first look and when I say this man’s jaw hit the ground… he knew he was a lucky guy with just one look. During this first look, the couple exchanged private letters to one another and you could see their nerves completely subside simply being with one another.
Their ceremony was beyond elegant with every detail planned so perfectly. The chairs dawned thistle flower arrangements and the wedding party walked up the aisle as a cellist played alongside them. During their traditional episcopal ceremony, the sunlight glowed perfectly around them, making the moment even a little more magical. The couple danced their way back up the aisle as husband and wife and toasted with a glass of champagne immediately after.
During their portraits, McKenna effortlessly sported a ‘Mrs. Baker’ jean jacket proving she’s the perfect modern bride and their images are now some of my very favorite of all time. Of course, we already know things got more fun from there, but make sure to check out the reception photos below to see just how awesome it was celebrating Mr. and Mrs. Baker.
McKenna & Jared, thank you so much for having me be a small part of your gorgeous day. You certainly did deliver on all the promised epic-ness. Congratulations on your marriage, I am wishing you so much happiness ahead!
