Camelback Wedding at Valley View

Feb 18, 2020

It was her senior year of college at GCU and Ashley was starting her very first day of training as a Resident Advisor before all the other students arrived for the new semester. When lunchtime rolled around, she decided to join her friends for lunch and even get to know some of the other RAs from the building. She had already decided that it wasn’t a good idea to date someone she worked with, but little did Ashley know, she was about to meet her future husband.

Around her birthday in September, it became pretty clear Ashley and JT wanted to see each other, so JT went to her parents and asked if it was okay for him to date their daughter. They agreed and shared at the wedding that JT quickly became a part of their family.

When the time came for him to propose to Ashley, her parents would again be a part of the planning process. They waited with some friends at a restaurant down the street from their house, anticipating the news so they could rush back home at a moment’s notice.

Meanwhile, JT took Ashley to El Chorro (where anyone who has ever dined at this delicious restaurant can assure you) they enjoyed their dinner together. Afterward, JT stopped in front of the restaurant – overlooking the beautiful Camelback Mountains – and got down on one knee and asked Ashley to marry him. She said yes, and out came the waitress with two glasses of champagne. When they arrived back at her parents’ house, they were so excited to join their friends and family in celebrating the proposal at their surprise engagement party.

And now, after all this time, Ashley gets to walk into the very building she met JT every single day as the new resident director in the very place she fell in love.

Ashley and JT, your story fills me with so much excitement for the two of you. Each step in this journey sounds like a fairytale and your wedding was no different. Thank you for sharing your incredible day with me. It was so special to see how loved the two of you are by so many people.
