Beautiful Micro Wedding In North Scottsdale
A summer of elopements has begun and I am here for it! As their original wedding plans didn’t go quite as expected with a global pandemic requiring last-minute adjustments, Kirsten and Andrew decided to elope on their original wedding day and carry out the big, beautiful party they had originally planned this winter.
Even though this was a last-minute adjustment, everything about this Boulders Resort celebration screamed perfection. When I arrived, Kirsten was getting ready in her suite with her gorgeous bridesmaids, Emily and Ashley. Upbeat music flowed through the rooms as they got their hair and makeup done. The soon-to-be newlyweds separately read the vows their partner had written for them, and a tear or two may have been shed. Finally, it was time – Kirsten slid into her dress, spritzed her special perfume and we heard a knock at the door.
Andrew wanted to see Kirsten in her dress for the first time as she walked up the aisle, but that didn’t mean we couldn’t have a special first look. I led Kirsten’s father to the garden behind her suite, made sure he was turned away from her, then invited Kirsten out for a moment they will not soon forget. As her dad turned, a beaming smile spread across his face as he was filled with pride seeing his radiant daughter ready for her wedding.
The ceremony, officiated by one of Andrew’s closest friends, was as beautiful as expected in the secluded “Promise Rock”. The space is complete with a waterfall and cute little barrel cactus dotted the background as the two said ‘I Do’. The highlight of the day for me was watching Kirsten walk up the aisle and turning to see her groom’s amazed reaction.
Afterward, Boulders incredible wedding coordinator, Erin, led us to a hidden path that we hiked up for husband and wife portraits. By how effortless the couple looks in their photos, you’d never be able to guess they had just marched up a steep rock complete with spikey little bushes, but I think it’s safe to say the scenery was WELL worth it!
Kirsten & Andrew, being around the two of you is such a joy. You both are filled with a passion and excitement for life that surrounds you. I can’t wait until December when we get to do this all over again one final time. Until then, I’m so happy that you’re officially MARRIED!!
