An Elegant Country Wedding

Nov 3, 2020

Madison’s sisters made beautiful officiants, standing side by side in front of a custom herringbone arch. Together, hands shaking with excitement, they announced Madison and Tyler husband and wife and invited Tyler to kiss his bride. In one smooth motion, Tyler removed his cowboy hat, placed it in front of them, and gave Madison a foot-popping kiss right behind it (yes, it was Princess Diaries worthy).

It was official! The thing the couple had been looking forward to most that day – being husband and wife – was finally accomplished and now the party could begin! As the couple began making their way back up the aisle, rose petals rained down on them and their guests cheered excitedly.

In anticipation of this very moment, we had already been celebrating all morning. When I arrived earlier in the day, Madison’s hair and makeup team was just finishing up and her bridesmaids began lacing up her gorgeous LUV dress. She stepped into her cowgirl boots and her grandmother secured a necklace (that had once been her engagement ring) around Madison’s neck. Another special detail was her veil: made from her mother-in-law’s veil and incorporating lace from her own mom’s wedding dress, sewn carefully around the hairpiece.

Because this veil would be so special to both her mom and Tyler’s (and was also a complete surprise for them), she decided to do a parent first look. This special moment was so worth it to see the excitement on each parent’s face. They were all blown away by Madison’s beauty, but also the thought and attention she had put into keeping her family close to her throughout her special day.

Of course, her first look with Tyler certainly did not disappoint. After he wiped a couple tears from his eyes, they were able to share a few minutes of uninterrupted excitement together as they began the rest of their wedding day hand in hand.

After some beautiful portraits at a local state park, we returned to the couple’s home that had been transformed into an incredible venue. Pictures of the couple throughout the years lined the fences around the property and on the horizon, you could see the sun setting slowly behind the mountains. The couple had chosen their home to host this important day because they want to be able to reflect and see how much their home and property has grown with them. They were also able to share the day with their horses, who were featured during their engagement session.

After their sunset ceremony, the couple treated guests to smoked brisket made by Tyler’s uncle (and quite possibly the best I’ve ever had) and all the perfect sides for an outdoor BBQ.

Later in the evening, little kids screamed on the front row as Tyler removed Madison’s garter, one of my very favorite moments of the day, second only to their first dance. The couple had taken classes to perfect their steps as they twirled underneath the twinkling lights, and guests were wow-ed by their talent on the dance floor. Throughout the night, I loved watching them line dance the night away and cheer when the DJ played another favorite.

Madison & Tyler, I hope you look back on this special day with nothing but happy memories. Every last detail was perfect and I am still in awe of the wonderful night you two shared with your friends and family. Congratulations again, you guys, have fun honeymooning in Hawaii!
