A Wedding At Pera Club, Tempe
As you would suspect, each bride I have the privilege of working with has her own personality that she gets to infuse into her wedding. Thank goodness for this bride in particular who is a self-proclaimed type-A because she sure knows how to plan a party. When I first met up with Tiffany and Josh for lunch, she showed up with notebooks in tow and told me she was planning her dream wedding down to the last detail. Months later, on November 9th, when I pulled up to the venue I could already tell she delivered on her promise. I’m talking sunflowers, navy blue, and country music! Every single decision was made with meaning and intentionality behind it, and I noticed the two themes woven throughout their day that stood out most strongly was their family and their faith.
One of these moments was when Tiffany put a twist on one of my favorite parts of a wedding – the first look. If you have ever imagined having a private moment when your groom can see you in your dress for the first time, you know how sweet it can be. But rewind a second and imagine right before that moment, sharing the same experience with your father. It’s safe to say that this reveal will be one of their favorite memories from this incredible special day.
About an hour before those first looks, Tiffany had also shared a moment with her mom in the bridal suite. Her mom gave her the very cross she wore every single day for years as her husband was away with the military. She shared that every time she missed him, she would reach up and grab it and it would comfort her. Tiffany tied this precious memento to her bouquet so she could keep it with her all day.
Tiffany and Josh also had a more permanent gift for each other: the engravings in their wedding bands. Each of their rings was engraved with a Bible verse, making a promise to one another that they again repeated in their vows. Yes, you guys, I said they were detailed! I do think that it’s details like this that make a wedding feel complete.
The duo had chosen Pera Club, a private country club for employees and families of the Salt River Project because it’s where they both work. By the way, click here to read how these two met and how Josh proposed (I bet it will make you giggle!). Tiffany even mentioned wanting some power lines in the photos because that’s true to their story and their lives.
All of this thoughtful detail didn’t stop the fun, though. Tiffany and Josh were both on the dance floor all night long with their guests under the twinkling lights, cowboy hats and all. At one point, the whole dance floor was even crowded around them serenading them with ‘Chapel of Love’.
Tiffany and Josh, I don’t have the words to thank you for trusting me with capturing all your important moments. I absolutely adore the two of you and wish you so much happiness in your marriage to come. It’s already off to a great start!
