A Scottsdale Destination Wedding
When Wichita comes to Scottsdale, watch out because it’s going to be one heck of a time!
That was the case for April and Joe who fully embraced the southwest for their destination wedding. There were succulents and cactus galore at The Scottsdale Plaza Resort, with a reception overlooking the iconic Camelback Mountain. But the most exciting installment was their beer burro, who surprised and delighted all the guests during cocktail hour, but probably none more than our bride April. Guests lined up to take photos with Corona from Walking M Farms and couldn’t believe this hilarious southwest tradition!
While there are a million reasons to get married at The Plaza, April and Joe chose the resort as their venue so all of their out-of-town guests could stay at the same location for a weekend-long celebration. Their destination wedding spoke to the couple’s adventurous spirits, which is a big part of who they are as a couple.
During the ceremony, they shared traditional vows and sealed letters to one other with a bottle of wine so they’ll have something to open together on their 5th anniversary. Joe’s uncle Terry played the role of officiant during the ceremony, significant because he also married Joe’s parents almost 40 years ago! Clearly, the couple has some strong examples to look up to.
While the ceremony was so special, everyone came to life during the reception. Guests laughed out loud, danced their hearts out, and smiled from ear to ear as they watched April and Joe’s wedding day dreams come true.
April & Joe, you both have a way of making every person in the room feel special and it’s no surprise that you were able to carry that magical spark into your wedding day. The genuine excitement your friends and family have towards your marriage is clear and it was so fun to see each of them let loose and celebrate you. I’m so excited for the two of you, wish we could relive this special day all over again!
