A Mother’s Day Proposal Story
Maddie and Justin met when they were only about 15 years old, but have built a lifetime of history in the years since. Even though the duo went to different high schools in the early days, they became close and eventually started dating. Here we are more than six years later and they are ready to promise the rest of their lives to each other.
Their sweet 8 month old, Preston, is not only the cutest baby of all time, but he was a key piece to Justin’s perfect proposal. On Maddie’s very first Mother’s Day, she went to feed her baby, who was facing away from her. As she picked him up and turned him around, there was a tiny box resting in his lap. Inside was a stunning diamond engagement ring.
I can’t help but see how beautiful and fitting it is that Justin chose Mother’s Day to propose to his sweet fiancé. It is clear by spending just a few hours with Maddie that she is an incredible mom. I understand how after seeing her take care of Preston every single day, he was ready to take the next step.
For their engagement session, we knew we definitely had to include a few family photos with sweet baby Preston. On a perfectly breezy October afternoon, we made our way to one of my favorite Mesa locations and drove the little dirt road on the final stretch to Lost Dutchman.
When we got all set up, we started with a few photos of the family while Preston was feeling good. He instantly started flexing his baby model skills and gave the camera the sweet toothy grin he’s known for.
Eventually, Preston needed a little snack and we decided to capture some more traditional engagement photos of Justin and Maddie. It is clear why Preston is so natural in front of the camera because magic started happening when these two graduated to some more advanced posing. By the end of their session, they were nailing lifts, dips, and twirls. Maddie’s long dress was practically flying perfectly in the wind all on its own.
