A Frida-Inspired Wedding At Shemer Art Center
As Hannah stood in front of two metal cacti, a gorgeous flower garland wound between them, she was surrounded by the people nearest and dearest to both her and the man who was minutes away from becoming her husband. She took a deep breath, and the sun beat against her back, making a perfect halo of light around her, as she began her vows to Brian. She shared how she can always rely on his encouragement and support, no matter what she’s doing, even if it means tuning her inner Frida and wearing a flower crown to her wedding (for this, we all thank you, Brian). She continued that whatever they’ve been doing is working because the past decade they spent together has just flown by so far and that she can’t wait to see what lies ahead.
I’m not sure how Brian was supposed to follow these sweet vows that had the front row tearing up, but he shared this promise to Hannah. He started by explaining that as promises are made, they are sometimes broken, but the promises they were making together at this moment would never be broken. Simply watching the two of them up there, looking into each other’s eyes, it was clear how happy they are with the other in their lives.
Stepping into the venue earlier that morning, there was a buzz of excitement in the air. Vibrant colors brought Hannah’s jewel-toned dreams to life and the Frida hairpiece mentioned before was already one of my favorite statements from the entire wedding season. The groomsmen donned bolo ties and Brian wore a special one that had belonged to his grandfather.
When selecting this venue that would host one of the most special days of Hannah and Brian’s lives, they labeled their style as ‘Modern Southwest’. They were looking for an old museum and when they stumbled upon what would become their venue, it was the perfect mix of inspiring art and romantic outdoor space. Shermer Art Center was an obvious choice to this creative, artsy couple who both LOVE the outdoors.
This ended up being the ultimate place to gather their family and friends to celebrate the night away under twinkling lights. Toasts and speeches showcased just how much this couple is adored, as well as the sheer amount of people who came to celebrate and dance with this couple.
Hannah and Brian, it is easy to see why you are so loved by all that gathered to share your day with you. You are two very genuine people with hearts of pure fun. You made incredible hosts, ensuring everyone around you was having a great time (and I assure you they did). I am so proud of the beautiful moments we were able to capture. Congratulations again to you both!
P.S. If you haven’t read the story about how Brian proposed, make sure to check that out here.
