A Coffee Meets Bagel Success Story!
“What’s your favorite philosopher?” was the very first message Katie sent Alex after matching with him on the dating app Coffee Meets Bagel. Alex had written in his profile that he was really into philosophy, so when he responded Aristotle, Katie had a suspicion he may have just chosen a famous philosopher. But as it turns out, he really knows his stuff. Katie gushed about how intelligent she had since come to know he was in the time since this first message.
After hitting it off on the app, they decided it was time to take this connection for a test drive on an in-person date. They went to a taproom to get to know each other, but it wasn’t ideal as it was so hard to hear each other. Alex made it up to Katie with a followup first date do-over.
This time, sparks flew when they went swing dancing. They have even continued to go back as it always reminds them of this first “official” date. At the end of each date, they weren’t quite ready for the night to end. Alex would invite Katie in for a cup of tea and they were both always excited for an excuse to spend a little more time together. It also happens to be just about the cutest idea ever.
When Katie started to suspect that Alex was going to pop the question, her mom threw her off track by telling her there was a problem with the ring and it was going to be a little longer. Alex then proposed to a completely surprised Katie at Papago Park. Lanterns were lighting a private walkway with flowers and a picnic basket waiting on the other side. Without hesitation, Katie agreed to marry him!
Katie and Alex are both adventurous and love the outdoors. They mentioned wanting to incorporate this into their engagement photos so we settled on the beautiful Salt River in Mesa, Arizona.
I expected them to show up to their engagement session dressed to the nines, but I wasn’t expecting just how good they would look. Alex rattled off all their favorite brands they were sporting and Katie had their wedding date engraved in her glasses. The river had receded just enough for some epic top-of-the-rock engagement photos that aren’t usually possible and their flawless modeling made me grow more and more excited for their wedding day this fall!
