A Bohemian meets mid-century wedding in Phoenix

Their pentagon arch was the perfect symbol for Kari & Kevin’s wedding day and the idea of them and Kari’s three daughters all becoming a family of five. Their family was incorporated into each element of the day, including Kevin giving the girls each their own personalized vows, having them as their wedding party, and Kari’s special engagement ring (a family diamond) passed down from Kevin’s aunt. They were married by Kari’s best friend and even the couple’s mini aussie doodle, Blu, had his own specialty cocktail on the drink menu (a vodka soda, of course). 

From the minute I arrived at Kari’s off-site AirBnb, the girls were helping Kari get ready and counting down until we could finally leave and head over to the venue. Their excitement was palpable and I appreciated the countdown as I worked on her detail photos, ha. Once at the venue, Kari and Kevin shared an emotional private first look followed by the moment both got to turn around and see their girls all dressed up. In their wedding questionnaire, Kari reported that “Making them a huge part of the day is extremely important.” Mission accomplished. 

Boojum Tree was the perfect backdrop to see Kari & Kevin’s mid-century bohemian vibes come to life. They let their florists do her thing with the idea of bohemian, colorful fall flowers and I think it’s safe to say HarperCo. Florals knocked it out of the park. 

Another fun detail was their record player guest book that they plan to frame and put in Kevin’s office since he loves old records. SO cute and such an honor to see one of their engagement photos printed right in the middle!

Kari & Kevin’s focus was truly on making memories with the people they love, having fun and sharing in the moment. Each person invited meant so much to them and it was emotional to see the happy tears during the ceremony, the giggles during toasts and the pure joy letting loose with glow sticks on the dance floor. They said, “We did this together. From every detail Kevin and I planned this special day and getting to share it with our closest friends is pretty amazing.” 

Kari & Kevin, thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing this incredibly special day with me. It was an honor to witness such an incredible love story.
