Lake Pleasant Wedding and Celebration

Mar 17, 2020

When Saturday arrived with a 100% chance of rain on the forecast, I was worried about how Amber might be feeling as I navigated to her getting ready room in the pouring rain. I could only imagine how stressed she must be feeling, but from the moment I saw her, she was the picture of total peace. She told me she just knew the weather was going to be perfect and we weren’t going to need all those extra umbrellas she had ordered.

Can you believe she was right? The sky cleared up minutes later and the rest of the day was perfect in every way!

We spent the afternoon at Lake Pleasant where the bride and groom exchanged their vows in front of thrilled family members and friends (with 6 sisters between the two of them, it’s safe to say there were many happy tears). However, no one was expecting what happened when it was time to read Matt’s vows. The groomsmen seemed to pull a hidden guitar and chair out of thin air and all of a sudden, he started strumming. Now, whenever I hear Kane Brown’s song ‘Good As You’, I can’t help but be transported back to this moment, with the sun peeking through the clouds, and seeing Amber’s face of pure shock and excitement.

As the afternoon turned to evening, the bridal party took their RV-turned-party bus to the beautiful Westbrook Village Golf Club where the celebrations began. The toasts from their family and close friends made the evening especially memorable as Amber’s sisters brought us back to the magical moment when Matt proposed.

One evening while camping on the Mogollon Rim, Matt asked Amber if she wanted to look for firewood. She was too cold and wanted to stay by the fire, but after a little persistence, she went with him. When he proposed on the rim, she was in utter shock and has the images to prove it. I love how amber’s sisters phrased it in their toasts “between Amber’s bright orange crocks and Matt’s on again off again mullet, they’re the perfect match”. Despite the unsuspecting outfits, the backdrop was gorgeous and he certainly chose one of the most beautiful places in Arizona to get engaged.

Amber and Matt, your wedding was to die for, and I feel so lucky to have been a part of your vendor dream team. Everyone I chatted with throughout the day is absolutely certain the two of you are made for one another and I couldn’t agree more. Thank you for allowing me to join you on the most magical of days. Congratulations, congratulations, and congratulations again!!
