Intimate Desert Engagement Session
Two people alone in the desert: dancing, twirling, and kissing by perfect cactus. Michelle & Nico are so natural in front of the camera, it’s like they do these things all the time and I just happened to be there this time to capture it.
These two have such adventurous hearts, it was such a pleasure to hang out with them for a while and get to know them. Speaking of adventure, I will share the proposal story that makes all our little girl hearts giddy with excitement for Michelle:
She always dreamed of going up north to visit Antelope Canyon, and on this special day, more than just that dream would come true. The duo headed up north for a perfect day: Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend. After the sightseeing, Nico suggested Cole Canyon, a location Michelle had never heard of, but Nico had done his research and knew this is where he wanted to propose… except the fact that it was closed! The two of them headed to family’s house nearby, but Nico could not wait any longer. He did an impromptu proposal in Kaibab Forest, and she was shocked. Seriously, she ran away a little at first because she thought he was holding a bug in his hand, instead of a ring! But like Michelle, I’m so glad it WAS a ring because it is a stunner. Nico found the diamond himself with a wholesaler friend and built a beauty exclusive to Michelle.
This session was a blast for so many reasons, like hearing their perfect stories (and having their sweet pup along for the ride made it even more fun!). One of my favorite parts was walking around the desert with their dog, Wednesday, and talking about their wedding plans—dresses, colors, and food. Well, let’s be honest, mainly food because once you start talking about Italian food and custom Italian desserts, you won’t stop until you’re starving!
I’m so excited for these sweethearts to tie the knot in 2019. They tease each other so adoringly and I have no doubt in my mind that they will continue to make each other laugh for the rest of their lives. Best of luck to the two of you, and save me a cannoli!
