Cave Creek Desert Maternity Session
I love to tell my “subjects” to wear light colors and flowy dresses when they can and when my cousin Katie showed up in this beautiful dress, my little photographer heart fluttered because I knew it would photograph so beautifully. This session was extra special because I was photographing a family of four. That’s right, TWINS!
Actually, let me start at the beginning. The night before our session, my husband DJ and I drove north to scout out the perfect spot of open desert for one of a kind photos. We drove around for about a half hour until we stumbled upon a little dirt road and thought, “We’re in a Jeep, let’s go explore”. We drove a couple minutes and may have gotten a tiny bit lost, but found the perfect spot hidden from the world and I was definitely excited it would be unique to Katie & Taylor’s pictures. I just wanted them to be special. The next evening with the perfect overcast weather, we reported back to the same spot with the family in tow. She was so excited to capture the memory of this time in her life with her little ones, and I was honored to be the one asked to capture it all.
Since her husband, Taylor, was willing to be in a couple photos, DJ came along so the guys could talk guns, giving the girls extra time to run off and got some pretty shots of Katie and the babies. I have to say, my favorite part about this session was finding a little dirt road and scouting a spot out in the middle of nowhere to give my clients unique photos with a beautiful backdrop that only they have. We are all so excited to have two additions to the family and be able to hold these cuties in March.
