Lexi & Willie’s Sonoran Desert Engagement Session

Lexi and Willie’s story is such a sweet one. Both born and raised in Tucson, they crossed paths while working at Frost Gelato and have been together for six years now. They’ve since started a new adventure together in Denver, but Arizona will always hold a special place in their hearts—so it felt only fitting to come back this spring for their engagement session.

Not long after settling into life in Colorado, Willie planned the sweetest proposal in their new home state. 

He had a vision for something intimate and scenic, but wasn’t sure where to begin. So he hired a photographer who helped him scout out the perfect view overlooking the red rocks. He told Lexi they were heading out to dinner and suggested she get a little dressed up. On the way, he asked if they could stop to take a photo—then dropped to one knee and popped the question. Total surprise. Lexi was greeted with champagne, and the surprises didn’t stop there. After she said yes, Willie told her all of their closest friends were waiting at a bar nearby to celebrate. It was such a thoughtful, joy-filled day from beginning to end.

I was so excited about doing their engagement photos when they came back to visit Arizona! Getting to meet them in person was such a treat. Lexi and Willie are incredibly kind and down to earth, and photographing them felt like hanging out with old friends. Their love is easy, genuine, and full of laughter—which made their session a total joy from start to finish.

I’m already counting down the days to their wedding. If their engagement session is any indication, it’s going to be something truly special.
