Elegant Fall Destination Wedding in Scottsdale
Jenny and Jordan combined the charm of Iowa with the natural beauty of Arizona to create a winning combination of “simple and elegant”. This sweet couple planned their destination wedding almost entirely from the midwest when they decided to host here. They’ve loved spending time in AZ together since Jordan proposed on Cathedral Rock in Sedona and they share a special place in their hearts for Scottsdale, so what better place to get married?
The couple planned their wedding down to the perfect details: Neon signs, elegant floral arches, and a beer burro carrying baskets full of Busch Light for their Midwestern guests. Even though they nailed the planning perfectly, when I asked them what they were most excited about for their wedding day, the response wasn’t about the details, it was that they were just so excited to finally see each other and spend the day together after all the anticipation. Their priorities were in the right place!
A stand-out feature of the day was their array of flowers. They chose to keep things light and bright with ivory roses, greenery and Arizona succulents. Roses are Jenny’s favorite flower, so the choice for the romantic flower was easy. Since their colors of navy and maroon were on the darker side, they wanted to even things out with light florals and they totally pulled it off.
They wrote their own vows to read to one another in private but did exchange traditional vows during the ceremony. Jenny had a secret weapon by her side, wearing her parent’s original engagement ring on her right hand for something old. Such a special way to honor her parent’s marriage on her own wedding day.
I think Jenny summed up the wedding day perfectly with her wishes for what the day would be. She was spot on when she said, “We hope our guests are wowed by the Arizona beauty and the magic of the desert. We hope the scenery around the plaza and in the garden where we will get married will wow people because of how different it is from home. We also just want to show off how truly happy we are together and how special it is for us to have everyone there with us.”
Jenny and Jordan, I hope you enjoy 9 straight days of nothing but relaxation in the Dominican Republic. I’m so excited to see pictures and hear all about it! You both were so incredible to work with. Fun, genuine, and an eye for planning the perfect wedding, I can’t wait to see what adventures are ahead for you!
