Mackinac Island’s Grand Hotel Proposal

Angela’s family has a special tradition in Michigan to visit Mackinac Island, where they love riding bikes, watching sunsets and enjoying the long summer days. This was Angela’s first time bringing her boyfriend, Jacob, with her family and she was so excited to show him her favorite sites. 

The first stop was The Grand Hotel, but when they got there, Angela’s family mysteriously split up for various activities and she found herself alone with Jacob. Little did she know, he had done some research on the hotel in advance and he knew about a secret garden on the grounds that even she didn’t know about. He led her around the buildings and into the private sanctuary where he got down on one knee and proposed. Angela admits she didn’t hear much of what he said to her over her own screaming, but the pictures captured by a hidden family member say it all – they were both so happy!

Angela and Jacob had previously been ring shopping together and Angela picked out 3 favorites to show Jacob what she liked. Without her knowing, he had taken her favorite elements from each one and come up with a perfect combination: an infinity shape, a cathedral lift, and diamonds all around the band.

Needless to say, Angela adores the ring and was excited to show it off at lunch with her family at the hotel immediately after the proposal. The perfect way to celebrate!

Congratulations Angela and Jacob! Your engagement session was so much fun and you guys are such a joy to be around. It was the best to hear you share all about your recent engagement while the excitement is still buzzing. I can’t wait until February when we can celebrate you all over again on your wedding day!
