Friends Theme Wedding

David’s back was turned as he eagerly waited to see his daughter, McKenna, for the first time all dressed up for his wedding in just a couple of hours. The anticipation built as he heard footsteps approaching behind him. He began to turn and was surprised to see his bride, Kasey, standing in front of him in her wedding dress. He thought he wouldn’t be seeing her until she walked down the aisle, but the surprise didn’t stop an instant grin from spreading across his face as he was met with a big hug and some giggles from Kasey, so pleased to know she got him. The first look was the first surprise of the day, but certainly not be the last.

Hand in hand, they then finally shared their first look with their daughter, both seeing her for the first time all ready to dance up the aisle. This time around, us onlookers were dabbing at the tears forming in our eyes from this sweet reunion. Hugs were shared and a very proud McKenna showed off her favorite part of her dress, the heart cutout in the back.

Kasey returned to her bridal suite for finishing touchups, now minutes from walking down the aisle when she read a letter from her grandmother, who could not be at the wedding. This made for a very special, emotional moment and it felt so right that she set aside these couple minutes to think about her and wish she could be with them.

The wedding ceremony was beautiful and intimate and the couple read their own vows to one another. McKenna, of course, danced up the aisle to JoJo Siwa and threw her petals all around her. Kasey’s bridesmaids stood by her side, wearing the perfect shades of pink and maroon and the groomsmen (including both of their sons) dawned matching sunglasses. Kasey and David were officially pronounced husband and wife and sealed their new marriage with a kiss.

Gather Estate was the perfect venue to host a relaxed and fun ‘Friends’ theme reception (Kasey just knew she had to incorporate her favorite tv show). Hype Man Entertainment certainly lived up to their names and got the party started. Following the delicious bbq dinner, there was plenty of drinks, dancing and a Friends photo booth.

After dinner, Kasey and David cut the cake and he surprised her with a classic cake-to-the-face smash. His son helpfully trapped him behind the table, though, and gave Kasey the opportunity for revenge and it was oh so sweet.

Finally came my very favorite moment when it was time for David to remove the garter. A little suspicion rose when he asked Kasey why she was standing, but that was put to rest when she responded “This is how you do it”. He got down on the ground, lifted her dress and began to stick his head underneath only to be greeted by one of the bridesmaids hiding out under there. It’s safe to say this event was a crowd favorite and the internet agreed because that clip went viral. Hilarious!

Kasey & David, it was such a pleasure to be a small part of your wedding day and laugh with the two of you. You both are filled with so much lightheartedness and fun, it’s impossible to not smile around ya. I am so glad your day finally came and we got to celebrate your marriage in a big, beautiful way.
