Cave Creek Elopement
Lisette and Greg have always dreamed of a destination getaway for their big day, but while they plan the party of their dreams in Cancun, it was only fitting to celebrate their 2nd anniversary in a big way!
2 years earlier (to the exact day), the couple each swiped right on Bumble and matched with one another. Lisette is originally from San Fransisco and Greg is an Iowa native, so they were both new to AZ and began to enjoy exploring the area together.
For their first date, the couple met at a favorite gastropub, The Porch, for some delicious food and games. Things went well and a few days later they found themselves on date number two at a Giants game (nothing initiates you to Arizona quite like baseball).
The pair quickly fell head over heels and began to build a house together. On the day of the final walkthrough, they spent 5 hours touring the house to make sure everything was perfect. Because it had been such a long day on their feet, Greg wanted Lisette to be able to relax and enjoy the evening so he arranged for a suite at Talking Stick Resort. Because he didn’t want to make her suspicious of what was to come, he told her his boss had given him a free room. They got some dinner and headed up to their room where Greg got down on his knee (on the balcony overlooking Scottsdale) and the couple agreed to spend the rest of their lives together!
The two had always dreamed of saying ‘I Do’ with their toes in the sand somewhere tropical, but first, they wanted a private ceremony with just each other (and a couple of witnesses). Greg’s parents flew in from Iowa and Lisette’s friend of 20 years, Yvonne, came to stand by her side.
Lisette planned the details that were most important to her – her flowers, her gorgeous Nordstrom bridal gown, and of course, her Badgley Mischka lace-up heels (my favorite!).
As the bride and groom stood hand in hand in their pastor’s home, they stared into each other’s eyes and focused on the promises they were making. They pledged commitments and their lives to one another and Pastor Brad shared some beautiful insight into the “secrets” of marriage.
After the ceremony, we snuck outside briefly in the 105-degree heat to capture a couple of photos of the two the day they officially got married! The festivities aren’t quite over for this sweet couple, though, as they plan to have that wedding of their dreams on a beach in Mexico later this year.
Lisette and Greg, congratulations on your brand new marriage. I wish you nothing but happy years ahead and an extra special celebration in Cancun. Sending all my love, congratulations again!
